Russell Matthews is a multi-instrumentalist and educator who graduated from the University of Toronto’s prestigious Jazz Performance program. Born and raised in the GTA, Russell has shown a remarkable aptitude for music from an early age. His studies with world-renowned saxophonist Mike Murley has developed his skills as a writer, arranger, and improviser.

Russell is passionate about sharing his knowledge of instrumental music. With 7 years of teaching experience, Russell has developed a teaching style that encourages growth in students, while keeping them interested by incorporating their personal musical interests. He has taught students of all skill levels ranging in age between 5 and 30. His multi-instrumentalist skills give him a unique flexibility and ability to teach Saxophone, Piano, Guitar, Ukelele, Flute, and Clarinet.

Russell is currently accepting new students and is offering in-home lessons for the convenience of his pupils.
