I am a student at The University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music. As a part of the comprehensive stream of my program I am exploring courses in performance, education, recording and arranging. I’ve been playing the trombone for 11 years, and have studied with extremely successful Toronto trombonists like Vanessa Fralick of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Megan Hodge, my current teacher and one of the most successful Canadian freelance trombonists. I also sing in a pop acapella group, of which I am now the Musical Director. My duties include arranging and choosing a majority of the music we sing, and facilitating productive bi-weekly rehearsals throughout our season of two concerts and a competition. My goal as a teacher would be to pass on a comprehensive knowledge of either Trombone performance or Acapella arranging, so that my students have the skills to self-analyze and help themselves in the practice room. I focus on making sure each student has their lessons catered to their learning style, and keeping all of my teaching as easy to understand and absorb as possible.
