    Music Credentials and Background (Bio)

    Graduated with honours at Metalworks Institute in 2016 where I learned several Digital Audio Workstations including industry standard Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase and Ableton. I explored sound design through various synths and samplers, as well as how to mix a song all within software. I have worked as a sound operator and sound designer for live theater projects where I had to create SFX and musical compositions.

    • DAW Lessons:

    Learning basic navigation of software as well as the ins and outs.
    Difference between hardware and Software
    Understand Software settings – Sample Rate/Bit Depth
    How to export music correctly for different encoders – MP3/Mp4/WAV etc.
    keyboard shortcuts.
    tips on creating templates.
    Stock VSTS.
    processing effect plug-ins.

    • Sound Design Lessons:

    Understand Midi synthesis, also includes additive, subtractive, frequency modulation and wavetable synthesis.
    Explore soft-synths such as Serum, Massive, Kontakt and FM8.
    re-sampling techniques.
    Audio warping.

    • Music Production Lessons:

    Learn/help with composing, arranging and mixing.
    Learn arranging techniques such as where to put instruments to help strengthen song structure before entering mixing stage.
    Explain processing Plug-ins including types of EQ, compressors, reverbs and effects.
    Concept of mixing and mixing techniques.
    Basic to intermediate levels of Ear-training. Learning what to look for and how to identify problems.

    I am also willing to help students on their personal projects to further enhance the points above.
