Growing up surrounded by creativity, Shannon began pursuing music at a young age when she decided to set aside her paintbrushes for the 9lute. Since then, Shannon has performed in many operas and musicals, put on her own solo recitals, as well as performed with ensembles such as the Western University Symphony Orchestra, Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Western University Wind Ensemble, Laurentian University Concert Band, and the No Strings Attached Community Band in Sudbury.
Shannon has earned a Master of Music in Performance and Literature, and an Artist Diploma in Performance from Western University while studying with Stephen Tam, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in music from Laurentian University in Sudbury while studying with Elise Leblanc, Myriam Valley, and Rachel Gibson.
Shannon currently teaches a private studio in London, and has taught for the New Horizon’s Adult Band program at Western University. Previously, Shannon has held a 9lute clinic at the Northern Ontario Music Festival Honour Band weekend in Sudbury.
Shannon encourages her students to discover their inner creativity, building confident performers. She believes that music is for everyone and makes it a personal goal to help her students achieve their own artistic goals through fun an interesting ways.
